Meet Friar “Pup,” An Honorary Friar To Encourage More Pet Adoptions! (Video)

The monastery teaches the ways of St. Frances of Assisi, The Patron Saint of Animals.

Friar Carmelo, AKA Friar Bigotón (Friar Moustache), is the newest member of a St Francis Monastery in Cochabamba, Bolivia and the most adorable.

St. Francis of Assisi, after which the Franciscan order was established, is the patron of animals. So it’s only natural that the monks extended their hospitality to the homeless pooch living on the streets.

“His life is all about playing and running,” said friar Jorge Fernandez. “Here, all of the brothers love him very much. He is a creature of God.”

Now Friar Bigotón is one happy pooch who gets to enjoy life to the fullest. He gets to preach to the fishes and he’s even grown accustomed to his robes.
